Description
June 6, 1944, above occupied France…With church bells ringing, paratroopers of the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions descend in and around towns. A short time prior, these young men were students, farm hands, soda jerks, and factory workers.
Now, they will fight for their lives and more-to liberate the oppressed. Soon, across the Atlantic, President Roosevelt will go on the radio and lead the country in a prayer for their safety. He will speak for every citizen and bestow a new title on the young warriors of D-Day. He will call them the “pride of our nation.”
