The 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment valorously fought a determined enemy in the most austere and rugged conditions in the world, contributing to the peace and prosperity of the people of Afghanistan and ridding the world of hostile and threatening terrorists. The remarkable courage, tenacity, ingenuity, and fighting spirit displayed by the 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment reflects distinct credit upon themselves, the Armed Forces of the United States, and the United States of America.
